Reflection part 2

Contribution and Role in group project

For this ‘second group project, I am playing the role of scriber, helping Batyr to complete the literature review, doing P&ID and mind maps for Chapter 9-11 of PLSLP. Also, I search additional information that may help us to complete the project.

Reflection on KRD subject (2nd half)

Dr Tazli took in charge and he introduced new ways of teaching such as online explanation and video which is very good and creative. I love the part when we can replay the video if we want, and this also helps us a lot when we want to do revision. This second part of KRD subjects is deeper and detailed compared to the first part of the subject that Dr Suzana taught us. In this part, we learned on how to determine the size for the reactor (can also relate with reactor sizing in the first half), what we need to do in order to maximize the desired product, which reactor is suitable for this condition and so on. In order to completely understand this second part, we need to master or understand the first part because it is related with each other.

Reflection on PSLP subject (2nd half)

Dr Dzulkarnain still teach us and he still approaches us using the same way; doing exercises which considered as assignments in class and also giving us simplified or summarized notes. For assignments, basically we will do it in a group that consists of 3-4 students and from here, we learn how to cooperate and help each other to complete that assignment. I found this is very helpful and efficient as we can enhance our understanding regarding this subject. Also, we learn how to avoid any catastrophe event in plant and how to avoid and deal with any unwanted accidents or hazard that might happened.

Reflection on CPDIC subject (2nd half)

Dr Haslinda took the role instead of Dr Abbas. I found this second half is better than the first one. Maybe, the way that Dr Haslinda approaches us. I may say that Dr Haslinda is quite strict as everyone in the class will surely stop talking when she starts teaching. But yet, she is a very good and dedicated lecturer where she will ask us to do exercises by ourselves first, and then she will pick randomly to write the solutions on the whiteboard and by doing this. By doing this, I am pretty sure everyone in the class is fully digested of what she taught us. In this second part, we learn the feedback controller, closed-loop system and process instrumentation.

Reflection on 2nd group project

In this ‘mini’ project, we need to convert waste into wealth. What we need to do is to generate idea on how to transfer 300kg waste from Tesco into something that valuable such fertilizer, methane or biogas. For me, this is more interesting from the board game I can say as we need to do lots of research, reading journals or research papers and googling current technologies on the internet. If this project is implemented in reality, we can save our environment especially because throwing waste to the landfills or river instead of recycling it may give long term effect to the environment. As engineer, we may contribute to the society or to be specific, to the farmer (in case if we convert waste to fertilizer).I can say this project worth my time as throughout this project, I gain lots of new knowledge.
