Reflection part 2

Contribution on second group project

For this second project, I am taking up the role of being Skeptic within my group. This time around, Batyr took the role of The Accuracy Coach where he found the resources to our project. Being the Skeptic one in the group, I asked a lot of questions to him and also to the rest. This is to make sure that everyone gets the idea of what we are actually dealing with. Sometimes, the ideas we collected are opposite of what we are supposed to do. So, this is the part where I asked verifications and whatever not in order for my group and I to be on the right track.

Reflection on KRD

Dr Tazli took in charge for the second half of this course. His way of teaching us is somehow out of the box. At first, I was reluctant to accept his new way of teaching which uses internet resources as core of teaching because I felt that that would be a hassling matter. But actually that was not as bad as I thought. Surprisingly, I concentrated more that I usually did in his new method of teaching. Back to the subject, the second part of KRD is literally the implementation of fundamentals which Dr Suzana has previously taught us. In addition, although the new method of teaching is cool, but the same didn’t go to the new method of student assessment. Two take home tests seem to be very time consuming for us especially reaching the end of the semester which is around the corner of our finals.

Reflection on PSLP

Dr Dzul is still using the same approach which simplifying the contents of the subjects. He tends to focus on the essential parts of the subject during his lectures. This is good for us as we know PSLP is apparently a long winded subjects with plenty of theories and formulas. Most of the time, assessment is given to us during the class. This is a good way of teaching which on the spot helps to strengthen our understanding on concepts.

Reflection on CPDIC

Dr Haslinda has taken the second half of the subject. She is indeed the strictest lecturer I have ever met. Quietness and attendance are vitally important in her class. She tends to explain the subject contents using examples compared to Dr Abbas who used to focus on the fundamental parts of the contents. Well, both ways of teaching have their own advantages.

Reflection on second group project

The mini project advocates the go green idea of recycling food waste into a lucrative business. The project has enlightened me very much. It is not easy to design a reactor. It requires so much knowledge of reactor sizing, instrumentation control and safety analysis. Experiences and knowledge obtained from this project could benefit us. Who knows one day we will be the one designing the reactors. Furthermore, it could be an add-on advantage to beautify our CV when our employers want to know what we have done in our degree.
