Reflection

Kinectic and Reactors Design

“I love this subject pretty much because we got a good lecturer, at this moment, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suzana. I just love the way she teaches us because she will ask us to do the exercises in class and she will discuss with us the answer so that we can directly ask her if we did not understand about the subject. I hope that I can get a very good grade at the end of the semester and will use all the learning outcomes during my internship later. Insya Allah.”

Process Safety and Loss Prevention

“During our first class, I thought that I will learn HSE subject again, meaning that I need to memorize all those facts about safety, disaster occurred and so on because the introduction part is all about those things. However, all my perceptions change after learning toxicology as we need to sketch graph and use the formula in order to calculate the potential deaths in a certain disaster. Dr. Dzulkarnain helped us a lot by doing exercises in every session of his class. Solving questions by your own can help you to measure your understanding.”

Chemical Process Design, Instrumentation and Controls

“I can say this is a subject where you need to derive piles of equations. I never expected that we also learned Laplace transform and Taylor Series in this subject. Never informed about that before. If I knew that we will use those things again , surely I will appreciate them back in our first and second year of degree. All I can say is that Dr. Abbas  Azarpour is doing his best by teaching us patiently. I really hope that I can survive this subject. Insya Allah. ”

Reflections on the Board Game

After having discussion with our group members, we chose Avione, quite similar with Battleship but with a lot of betterment. The idea of the board game is to act like a medium for us to ask questions to the players and to attract them to study these three core subjects. As we know, teenagers loves games and challenges. In order to complete their mission, they need to  hit the opponent’s cockpit and if they hit  other parts of the plane, they need to pick a card and answer the question, note that questions are based on Kinetics and Reactor Design, Process Safety and Loss Prevention, and Chemical Process Design, Instrumentation and Controls subjects. If they managed to answer that question, a clue will given tothem and they will use the clue to guide them to find the location of their opponen’s cockpit. Also, they will be credited some points. So, we are preparing 30 cards for this game. Last but not least, I will say that I have learned to use a lot of new modern software to complete this project including Prezi, creating e-portfolio and uploading video on YouTube which then shall be useful for me during my internship later on.

Reflections on the questions posed for KRD, PSLP and CPDIC on the Board Game

Since our board game needs 30 cards of questions, we have divided them into three levels of difficulty (easy, medium and hard). Shall the game will be education tools to help students  to understand more on these three subjects. By playing the games, we really hope that students are able to understand the learning outcomes and let them have fun solving tricky problems while studying these subjects. Cheers!

Contributions and Roles to this Project

At first, our group decided to choose the concept of Battleship for our board game until we were informed that there is another group that chose the same concept. Till then, I came up with the idea of Avione, asking for my groupmates’ opinion and Alhamdulillah, all of them agreed with that idea. After that, we have been given tasks by our leader and for me, I need to study and create questions for PSLP subjects. From there, I am expected to cover the particular chapters for PSLP and prepare higher order thinking questions to be included in theboard game. As for the roles, I think I am the reporter in the group, summarize the final idea of our project.

Suggestions for the Improvement

As for me, I think it would be better if we, as a team be more cooperative (Alhamdulillah, we did!) and do more researches regarding our project in order to generate more brilliant ideas.
